Repair Warranty
Our technicians always test your device on arrival and prior to it being returned to you.
We test all essential functions of the device, including the buttons, sound, vibration, cameras, charging port, speakers, signal, wifi and display, to confirm its repair requirements.
Our repairs are performed to the highest industry standards but in the unlikely event of a problem we are always here to help you and you are protected by our warranty.
We will clarify here what we cover and do not cover and also what can void the warranty.
We warrant that on repair, and for a period of 12 months from the date of repair (warranty period), repair products or services supplied by Repair In Birmingham shall:
1 - conform in all material respects with their description
2 - be free from material defects in design, material and workmanship
3 - be of satisfactory quality (by definition of the Sale of Goods Act 1979)
Please note that the warranty period runs from the date of the original repair, if subsequent work is carried out under our warranty, this does not extend the warranty period. For example, if a warranty repair is done 2 months after the original repair, the warranty still ends 12 months from the date of the initial and original repair.
THE REPAIR IN BIRMINGHAM WARRANTY COVERS
1 - Any component(s) failures or any fault due to inherent defects.
2 - Any issue or problem arising from poor workmanship during the warranty period.
3 - If the device is lost in transit we will replace it for a like for like model
and not a brand new device.
THE REPAIR IN BIRMINGHAM WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER
1 - Any evidence of accidental or malicious damage to the device.
We may ask you to send proof by email, by forwarding photo(s) in or sending the device in question back to us)
2 - If a repair is carried out on the device by a third party or another repair company, after our repair
3 - If the fault is unrelated to the repair we have carried out.
4 - Liquid damage related repairs, software repairs and a selection of WiFi repairs are not covered under our 12 month warranty. We are however able to offer a limited 3 month warranty on our liquid damage repairs.
4.1 - We have an excellent repair record with liquid damaged mobile phones, iPad's, Macbook's, tablets, laptops and other electronic devices.
Most repairs are protected with Liquid Contact Indicators (LCIs). LCIs will activate when they are affected by liquid, by turning pink to red, depending on extent of moisture ingress and liquid saturation.
5 - Issues relating to battery replacement.
Our warranty is limited to 3 months with respect to the replacement of battery cells.
5.1 - Due to the unpredictable and diverse range of causes of battery performance issues, it is not always possible to diagnose whether the issue is solely due to hardware, software, board, or device related.
Following completion of our technical inspection procedures, should your device continue to display the original symptom(s) that presented before the performed repair, we retain the right to determine that the problem could be as a result of damage to the U2 IC Chip and our warranty will not apply.
5.2 - If the battery is not functioning or will not charge or turn on, then your device will need to be diagnosed by one of Repair In Birmingham’s lead technicians
5.3 - Battery performance can also be adversely affected by faulty chargers or dock connectors. You are advised to have tried alternative original equipment manufacturer (OEM) chargers and have updated to the most recent software update for your device prior to booking in for a battery replacement.
5.4 - Our warranty will not apply if you have used non-OEM chargers, power banks, car chargers, charging phone cases, charging pads, plates, or any other form of battery/phone charging equipment not manufactured by the OEM.
5.5 - Any use of these accessories may cause damage to your device’s IC Chip and therefore a battery or charger port replacement is unlikely to resolve the issue. In this instance you will not be entitled to a refund for our battery replacement repair.
